Island Seating

One popular element customers like to add to their new Kitchen Design is an island or peninsula for seating. Ridding the Kitchen of the old table and getting people up close and personal to the action is a growing trend. Here are a few tips we picked up from Unruh Furniture meant for a table but work when determining seating around your island. (sorry Unruh- maybe they will need a dining table or end tables)

Tip #1: 24" Per Person On average, each person should have 24" of space for elbow room.

Tip #2: The 3' Rule This one is way simpler. Keep at least 3 feet between the wall and your island or peninsula for a walkway
